The Westpark Tollway has always been an innovative leader in transportation. From being the first all-electronic tollway in the country to expanding over 20 miles across Harris and Fort Bend Counties, it’s been at the forefront of the future in efficiency and connectivity.
Now, with over 400,000 new residents in the region and more growth ahead, the Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA), in partnership with METRO, the city of Houston, and Fort Bend County (study partners) have launched a new study to tackle its next opportunity — to shape its future for decades to come.
What’s the Study About?
This study isn’t just about fixing current issues; it’s about reimagining all that the area can be. We’re looking at ways to reduce congestion, improve safety, and create a more sustainable, community-focused tollway. By exploring alternative transportation options like biking, walking, and public transit, we are looking at how to make the tollway accessible and beneficial for everyone.
The study also focuses on building a resilient corridor. With improvements to stormwater management, environmental protection, and sustainability, we’re planning a tollway that can stand up to future challenges while supporting our region’s growth.
We Want to Hear from YOU!
What makes this study unique is the emphasis on your input – our community. Through surveys, public meetings, and interactive maps, we’re gathering feedback from the very people who use the tollway on a daily basis. Your thoughts will shape the tollway’s future, ensuring it meets the needs of our community now and for decades to come.
